The images to the left represent a dental smile makeover that involves a crown and three veneers restored by our cosmetic dentists.The right Central Incisor was lost due to a fracture and was replaced with an implant. After the appropriate healing time, the implant was replaced with a crown and the adjacent teeth were restored with three veneers.

The work was performed after bleaching the remaining teeth so the shades of the restorations matched the new color of the teeth.  This case was published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, which is a well-respected publication amongst dental colleagues.

The second cosmetic dentistry case was also performed by the doctors at Esthetic Dentistry in Los Angeles.  The case concerned a patient that had porcelain fused to a metal crowns from decades ago by another dentist. These metal crowns were replaced with all-ceramic crowns at Esthetic Dentistry. In the past, dentists used to employ ceramic restorations that were stacked onto a metal substructure. Metal backing would often shine through and give a dark grey look around crowns. Now, non-metal base crowns are used so we can create a much more esthetic smile. In the photos on the left, you can see this dark hue which is overcome with all-ceramic crowns in the “after” photos.
